Sa'ee of Hajj before Arafat

Dear Mufti Saheb, Assalamu alaikum, Can Saee of Tawaf-e-Ziyarat be performed on 5th or 6th of Zil Haj before going to MIna on the 8th of Zil Haj? Is the state of Ihram compulsory to perform the Saee of Tawaf-e-Ziyarat ?

Answer

(1) Yes, one can perform the saee of tawaf-e-ziyarah before going to Mina on 5th or 6th Zul Hijjah, but it is conditioned that it is preceded by ihram and nafl tawaf; since every saee should be offered after tawaf. In this tawaf it is sunnah for men to do iztiba of ihram sheet (take out the right hand till arm and leave it uncovered) and ramal (stride confidently) in tawaf.

(2) The saee performed after wuqood Arfa along with tawaf-e-ziyarah is not conditioned with ihram, but the saee of hajj which is performed before wuqoof is conditioned with ihram.
